My name is Ben I’m a Welshman and physiotherapist with the BounceBack rehab team. I’ve been living in NZ for nine years now and have two sons born here. I graduated in 2007 and since that time I have amassed considerable experience across many domains of physiotherapy leading up to my current position as rehabilitation lead. My physiotherapy experience consists of NHS work in the UK for three years with rotations in medicine, respiratory, orthopaedics, paediatrics and musculoskeletal medicine to name a few. Within NZ I have worked for two-three years in private practice sports and spinal clinics in Wellington and eventually made the move to Taranaki to work in the Base hospital being promoted to clinical leader, a position I held for two years before moving into my current rehab role. Professionally, I am highly interested in musculoskeletal diagnosis and triage employing evidence-based exercise rehabilitation tailored to the individual client. I am particularly interested in complex shoulder and spinal presentations and managing the whole person holistically with exercise therapy and educational self-management strategies. I am a firm believer in the multi-disciplinary approach to health management and feel that this approach is responsible for our continued success at BounceBack rehab.
- I graduated from Cardiff University Wales in 2007 with BSc Hons in Physiotherapy. Previous to this, I graduated from the University of Nottingham back in 1998 with a BA Hons in German and French.
- I have recently graduated from AUT 2017 with a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science in Rehabilitation.
